- Problem here is that U.S. Census record 1840 Lumpkin Co. Georgia list Only the head of the household by name. The remained of the family, as was the custom in that Census was to list all others in the Following order. Males Ages 0-5. 5-10, 10-15,20-30,40-50 and Females 0-5, 15-20, 30-40, etc. In this instance a females was listed in the age branch of 15-20 as 1. The name was listed and in the following 1850 census where all names were listed. She was now included since she would have been in the 25 to 35 age range. No doubt she had gotten married and moved on from her own family. The birthdate is listed as ABT 1825 since it fits this time frame.
