Dale Thompson’s Research

 

Dale Thompson lives in Iowa and has been collecting Tripp Family information for a number of years. 

Dale’s information on the Tripp surname has moved to a new interactive database.

  1. Go to the  Master Database   (this is accessible from the main menu under the “Research” tab.)
  2. Click on the “Advanced Search” link in the  the lower left hand of the screen.
  3. Select “Dale Thompson’s Genealogy” from the “Trees:” pull-down menu.
  4. Fill in the boxes to locate your ancestor.
  5. You can search all databases at once by selecting “All Trees” in step no. 3 above.

Dale is researching Sylvanus Tripp of Kittery, Maine. He is seeking information and documentation from others to make a determination one way or another.

Dale’s information on Nicholas Tripp who settled in North Carolina.  He is seeking information and documentation from others to make a determination one way or another. Most Tripps in the southern part of the U.S. are descendants of Nicholas Tripp.

    • Thanks for the post, Randy. Through DNA testing of Sylvanus Tripe’s [Tripp] ancestors, he is NOT the son of John (1610-1678)
      Tripp the Founder. John’s descendants are haplotype R1b and Sylvanus’ descendants are haplotype I2. Both groups are found in England and Europe but Sylvanus’ haplotype split as much as 7,000 years earlier. See the Tripp Surname DNA project at http://familytreedna.com/public/tripp for more details.
