  • Notes 
    • He went to Pennsylvania at age 14, and at age 20 to Lorain County, Ohio. In 1853 he went to Michigan. He enrolled at Newport, Michigan on July 18 1862 in Company "E", 22 Michigan Infantry.

      He was discharged December 1, 1862, at Lexington, Kentucky as a corporal. He married Nancy Frasier in Marine City, Michigan. They were both of Ira Township.

      Wanton was 6 feet tall, dark complexion, blue eyes brown hair and was a farmer.

      Upon coming to Michigan, he resided at Cottrellville Township ( Starville P.O.). from 1865 to 1907 China Township, St Clair County, Michigan. Wanton Tripp and his family resided at Cottrellville Township ( Starville Post Office ). From 1862 to 1865 he lived at Marine City; from 1865 to 1907 China Township; St. Clair County Michigan.
