  • Notes
    • 1)from 1894 directory of Tyre. Farmer, 20 acres, civil war veteran. Company D, Yates Cavalry.

      2) BENAJAH (AKA Benniger) Tripp, census 1880, Tyre, has a 50 year old son, Robert. Robert's wife, Adaline, is also in the household. This proves the 1894 directory record showing Robert & Adaline, are the same persons.

      3) Finally, the cemetery records, Tyre Dutch Reformed Church, gives both Robert H and wife Adaline Andrews, his wife, with birth and death years (him: 1830-1899; her:1827-1911); and his service with Co H, NY 8th Cav; source per PLT ARCHIVES, V21, confirmed by Babbitt, per Bernard Babbitt correspondence, 1990, PLT ARCHIVES V 19.

      4) 1850 CENSUS, JUNIUS: R.H.TRIPP 19/M; LABORER. BORN NY. 5)History of Seneca County, NY, 1876, p. 93, confirms Co D, 8th Cav, enlisted Sept, 1861, discharged, 1863. 6)Russ Quimby reports US Pension document states Robert div Charlotte 31 Aug, 1857, and the marriage date to Charlotte could be 20 Mar 1857, difficult to read. Babbiitt states Robert was married in the Dutch Ref Church. I assign this place to Robert's first marriage because other information gives the place marriage to Adaline as Geneva. See Bernard Babbitt correspondence, 1990, PLT ARCHIVES V 19. 7)Seneca Co Dir 1894/5, confirms "Soldier, Co D, Yates Cav., civil war pensioner, wife Adaline Andrews; Farmer; b 1836.

1)Member, Reformed Dutch Church of Tyre, 1896, per p.228, Churches & Pastors of Seneca Co, PLT ARCHIVES V17.
