Martin Luhmann of Rochester MN is descendant of one of Bessie's siblings. Appears father, Lyman Ball, abandoned family of 12? children; mother, whose name is not known, died when Bessie was young, and the children were farmed out among local families. Unknow whether adoption was formal or not.
