Jacob emigrated with his father to Rockingham County, Virginia, in 1780, and later owned land in the Linville Creek district. He moved to Fairfield County, Ohio in 1803, and farmed on Upper Racoon Creek in Rush Creek Township, and in 1832 moved near McCutchenville. Jacob married Nancy Geil in Virginia in 1795; ten children were born in this marriage. He died near McCutchenville, and is buried in Bibler Cemetery. ["Beery Family History"] -page 74.
