  • Notes
    • Per Gertrude Tripp. James was a young man of 18 working in Detroit. He got paid on Friday evenings. One Friday when he was walking home from work, a gang of thugs robbed him of his pay and tied him to the railroad tracks. A train came along and cut off his legs. He bled to death before he could get proper medical attention.
