Gideon Waite (1745-1808) served, 1780, as sergeant in Capt. Joseph Hopkins' company, Col. Samuel Wall's regiment. He was born and died in West Greenwich, R. I.

Dan Foote (1755-1820) served as surgeon three years in the navy. He was born in Colchester, Conn.; removed to Pittsfield, Mass., and in 1793 located in New Berlin, where he died.

Giles Pierce (1722-92) was a private in Capt. Cornelius Brigg's company, Col. Nathan Miller's regiment, Rhode Island militia. He was born in Little Compton, R. I.

Josiah Bemis, a patriot, furnished money for the Revolutionary soldiers. He was born 1716.

Jabez Stevens (1758-1850) enlisted, 1775, in Capt. Josiah Steven's company, Col. Ephraim Doolittle's regiment, Massachusetts troops. He was born in New Bedford, Mass.; died in Ohio.

John Macomber (1734-1802) served several enlistments under different commands, 1776-80, Massachusetts Line. He was born in Dartmouth, Mass.; died in Dutchess County, N. Y.

Ezekiel Davis (1734-1812) served as corporal and sergeant under Capt. John Hayward, Col. Abijah Pierce, Massachusetts troops. He was born in Eastern, Mass.; died in Knox, Albany County, N. Y.
